- Description
The Schneider Electric LUCL12FU is a TeSys U magnetic control unit giving short-circuit protection only, adjustable from 3 to 12 A. Plugged into a LUB12, LUB32, or LUB38 power base, it is intended for installations where an upstream variable speed drive or soft starter already provides motor overload protection, completing a disconnect/short-circuit function for 3-phase motors up to 5.5 kW at 400 V, controlled from a 110-240 V AC / 110-220 V DC supply.

Selection Notes
The LUCL12FU matches the LUCL12B's 3-12 A short-circuit-only range for downstream-of-drive applications but is wired for a 110-240 V AC / 110-220 V DC control supply, avoiding a separate step-down transformer where the panel's control circuit already runs at mains voltage. As with the rest of the LUCL family, it omits the thermal curve entirely, so it must only be paired with a motor already protected by a VSD or soft starter upstream. Use the 24 V LUCL12B instead on a 24 V control bus.
