The Schneider Electric LUCA18FU is a TeSys U standard control unit providing adjustable thermal-magnetic motor protection from 4.5 to 18 A. Plugged into a LUB32 or LUB38 power base, it forms a complete starter-controller with Class 10 overload tripping, phase-failure sensing, and earth-fault detection for 3-phase motors up to 7.5 kW at 400 V, controlled from a 110-240 V AC / 110-220 V DC supply.

Selection Notes

The LUCA18FU shares the LUCA18B's 4.5-18 A range and 7.5 kW rating but is wired for a wide 110-240 V AC / 110-220 V DC control supply, useful where the panel's control transformer is already at mains voltage rather than 24 V. Its closing current draw (280 mA) is the same order as the 48 V LUCA18ES-equivalent band, so upstream control-relay sizing is unaffected by the voltage choice. Pick the 24 V LUCA18B instead on panels standardized on a 24 V control bus.
