- Description
The Schneider Electric LUCA18B is a TeSys U standard control unit providing adjustable thermal-magnetic motor protection from 4.5 to 18 A. Plugged into a LUB32 or LUB38 power base, it forms a complete starter-controller with Class 10 overload tripping, phase-failure sensing, and earth-fault detection for 3-phase motors up to 7.5 kW at 400 V, controlled from a 24 V AC supply.

Selection Notes
The LUCA18B's 4.5-18 A range requires the larger LUB32 or LUB38 power base, unlike the lower-current LUCA05B/LUCA12B, which also fit the compact LUB12. Its Class 10 curve carries the same trip characteristic through the whole family, so swapping current steps does not change coordination with upstream protection. Choose the LUCA32B instead once the motor's full-load current exceeds 18 A.
