- Description
The Schneider Electric LUCA05B is a TeSys U standard control unit providing adjustable thermal-magnetic motor protection from 1.25 to 5 A. Plugged into a LUB12, LUB32, or LUB38 power base, it forms a complete starter-controller with Class 10 overload tripping, phase-failure sensing, and earth-fault detection for 3-phase motors up to 1.5 kW at 400 V, controlled from a 24 V AC supply.

Selection Notes
Class 10 tripping (a 10-second trip time at 7.2x Ir) suits general-purpose motors without extended starting; the LUCA05B's 1.25-5 A range targets motors down to around 0.25 kW. It plugs into any LUB power base and relies on that base for the actual switching, so pick the current step whose range brackets the motor's full-load current rather than resizing the base. Choose the LUCB05B instead if the installation needs a remote thermal-overload alarm output.
