The Schneider Electric LUALB1 is a TeSys U current limiter disconnector rated 32 A, mounted directly on the upstream terminals of a TeSys U power base. It raises the starter controller's short-circuit withstand from 50 kA to 130 kA at 400 V by activating at a 50 kA threshold, ahead of a LUB or LU2B power base.

Fitting the LUALB1 ahead of a power base lifts the assembly's short-circuit rating from the base's own 50 kA to 130 kA at up to 440 V (70 kA at 690 V), which matters when the starter sits on a feeder with higher prospective fault current than the bare base can withstand alone. It includes its own limiter cartridge LUALF1 and connects upstream of exactly one power base - it cannot be shared between two starter controllers.
