- Description
The Schneider Electric GV4P80S is a 3-pole TeSys GV4 motor circuit breaker rated 80 A continuous current with a 100 kA breaking capacity (Icu) at 380-415 V AC. It provides thermal-magnetic protection for 3-phase motors from 22-37 kW at 400 V, with a 40-80 A thermal setting range and rotary handle start-stop control.

Selection Notes
Fixed thermal-magnetic protection covers overload and short-circuit tripping; there is no electronic adjustment beyond the 40-80 A thermal dial and the fixed instantaneous pickup at 17 x In. The trailing S in the catalog number identifies the breaking-capacity class Schneider assigns within the GV4 range (B/N/S step up from economy to high short-circuit withstand); this unit falls in the high 100 kA tier, so it should be matched to the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point rather than swapped for a lower class to save cost on a feeder with higher fault levels. For the 80 A frame, internal mounting positions accept OF/SD auxiliary contact blocks and MN/MX voltage trip units without changing the breaker's footprint, which keeps a panel design consistent across the motor power range it covers.
