Schneider Electric GV2LE16 TeSys Deca GV2LE 14A 690V Manual Starter and Protector

The Schneider Electric GV2LE16 is a TeSys GV2 manual motor circuit breaker with magnetic-only tripping, rated 14 A with a 15 kA breaking capacity at 400/415 V per IEC 60947-2. Its toggle-switch actuator gives local on/off control and short-circuit disconnection for motors up to 5.5 kW at 400/415 V, and the unit doubles as a load-break isolator per IEC 60947-1.

Selection Notes

At 14 A, the GV2LE16 sits at the top of the GV2LE frame and its magnetic trip threshold rises to 253.4 A, matched to motors up to 5.5 kW at 400/415 V. Breaking capacity at 400/415 V drops to 15 kA on this frame, well below the 100 kA rating of the lower-current GV2LE variants, so check upstream fuse or breaker coordination before specifying it as the sole short-circuit protection on a higher-fault-level board. As with the rest of the GV2LE line, it trips on short-circuit current only — add a thermal overload relay for overload protection.

Applications

Used as a manual motor disconnect and short-circuit protector ahead of a contactor in TeSys Deca motor-control assemblies, panel-board motor feeders, and machine-building enclosures where a toggle-operated local isolator is required alongside DIN-rail mounted control gear.
