Schneider Electric GV2LE14 TeSys Deca GV2LE 10 A Manual Starter and Protector

The Schneider Electric GV2LE14 is a TeSys Deca GV2LE manual motor circuit breaker rated at 10 A, giving magnetic-only short-circuit protection to a 3-phase motor branch. A toggle handle provides local on/off/trip control, and the breaker carries a 100 kA breaking capacity (Icu) at 400/415 V. Because the trip unit is magnetic only, it is normally combined with a separate thermal overload relay.

Selection Notes

The GV2LE trip unit is magnetic only, with a fixed 149 A instantaneous trip point set for the 10 A line rating — it carries no thermal overload element, so pair it with a TeSys LRD-type thermal relay, or use it ahead of a soft starter or drive that already provides overload protection. Its 100 kA breaking capacity at 400/415 V and 690 V toggle rating cover the full 3–7.5 kW motor power range this reference is rated for, so choosing between GV2LE variants comes down to the required line current, not the breaking capacity. The screw-clamp power terminals take 1–6 mm² solid conductor, which sets the practical upper wiring size for the 10 A circuit; the IK04 impact rating and -20…60 °C operating range are the same across the GV2LE line, so they do not factor into which current rating to pick.

Applications

Manual disconnect and short-circuit protection ahead of a contactor, soft starter, or variable frequency drive on a 3-phase motor branch circuit, in panels where a separate device provides continuous-current overload protection. The 690 V insulation and impulse withstand rating (Ui, Uimp) allow the same reference to be used on 400/415 V branch circuits with margin, or on circuits run closer to its 690 V operational limit where the breaking capacity drops to 3 kA.
