ABB's 2CSA255901R9164 S-ARC1 C16 packs a 16 A Type C miniature circuit breaker and arc fault detection into a single 1P+N, two-module DIN-rail device, delivering 6 kA breaking capacity to IEC 60898-1 together with overload, short-circuit and series/parallel arc-fault protection in one housing, suited to final circuits carrying loads with higher inrush than a B-curve device would tolerate.

Selection Notes

The C-curve instantaneous trip, 5-10 times the 16 A rated current, is chosen over a B-curve at the same rating when the circuit feeds motors, transformers or similar inrush loads. Select 16 A where the branch conductor and connected load match it; the 10 A, 13 A, 20 A and other C-curve siblings scale the same protection to different branch sizes. Its 6 kA rated short-circuit capacity covers typical final-circuit boards, with the S-ARC1 M C16 (10 kA) available for higher fault-level installations.
