Type AI562, ABB order code 1TNE968902R1102, is an S500-eCo analog input module built specifically for RTD temperature sensing: 2 input channels wired for 2-to-3-wire RTDs at 15-bit resolution. It plugs into the same AC500-eCo I/O system as the other S500-eCo modules and uses a pluggable connector for field-replaceable wiring, housed to IP20.

Selection Notes

AI562 is a dedicated RTD module rather than a general-purpose analog input card: both channels only accept RTD sensors, wired 2-to-3-wire, and resolve to 15 bit instead of the 12-bit general-purpose module in this range. Choose it when the application is reading platinum or similar RTD elements and needs better resolution than a general U/I input card provides; choose a general U/I module when the inputs are standard voltage or current loops instead of RTDs. The 2-channel count keeps the footprint small for applications that only need one or two temperature points per module.
