The AC500-XC communication module ABB 1SAP373200R0001 (CM592-DP-XC) puts the PLC in control of a PROFIBUS DP network, acting as master over one RS485 serial port at up to 12 Mbit/s. It scans the subordinate PROFIBUS devices and exchanges process data with them each cycle. Degree of protection is IP20.

Selection Notes

Choose this module when the AC500-XC PLC itself needs to be the PROFIBUS DP master scanning other devices; use the CM582-DP-XC slave module instead if the CPU is reporting into someone else's PROFIBUS master. Both modules share the same RS485 interface and 12 Mbit/s ceiling, so swapping master for slave changes only the module's role on the bus, not the wiring.
