TB5640-2ETH-XC covers applications running four CM5xx-XC communication modules on one CPU, for example mixed PROFIBUS, PROFINET and Modbus TCP links in the same cell; two modules or fewer fit on the shorter TB5610 or TB5620, while a sixth module requires stepping up to the TB5660. At 179.5 mm the base is noticeably wider than the 2-slot TB5620 (123.5 mm), a jump of 56 mm (2 x 28 mm) because it skips the 3-slot step.
