The ABB 1SAP250500R0001 (AC522) is an S500 analog input/output module for the AC500 PLC platform, with 4 configurable channels supporting AI U/I/RTD/DI or AO U/I and 4 further channels supporting AI U/I/RTD or AO U, giving up to 8 configurable AI/AO points at 13-bit resolution. It uses a 1-wire connection and carries IP20 housing protection.

Selection Notes

The AC522's 4+4 configurable channel layout (8 total AI/AO points) at 13-bit resolution suits applications needing a mix of analog sensing and control on one module rather than dedicated single-type I/O cards. Each of the first 4 channels accepts AI voltage, current, RTD or digital input, or AO voltage/current output, while the second group of 4 omits the digital-input option — check which channels the control program assigns before wiring sensor types that need the full AI U/I/RTD/DI set. The 1-wire connection and IP20 housing follow standard S500 I/O module practice, which requires a TU5xx terminal unit alongside it on the DIN rail.
