ABB's 1SAP222200R0001 (CI522-MODTCP) is the digital-only Modbus TCP server interface module in the S500 range, carrying 8 digital inputs, 8 digital outputs, and 8 configurable DI/DO points with no onboard analog channels. It extends with up to 10 additional S500 I/O modules and is housed to IP20 on a 20.4-28.8 V DC supply.

Selection Notes

Like the other digital-only head modules in this interface family, CI522-MODTCP replaces the onboard analog channels with 8 fixed DI, 8 fixed DO, and 8 configurable DI/DO, but over Modbus TCP rather than PROFINET or EtherCAT. It is the right pick for a purely digital Modbus TCP station; where any analog signal must originate at the head module, the AI/AO-equipped Modbus TCP variant in this family covers that instead.
