The ABB 1SAP217200R0001 (TU531) is a screw-terminal I/O base for the AC500 S500 modules that switch 230V AC loads and relay outputs, terminating field wiring on the DIN-rail base rather than on the module itself. That separation lets a faulty relay module be swapped without disturbing the 230V AC field wiring. ABB rates the base IP20 and supplies the terminal electronics at 24V DC.

Selection Notes

TU531 wires 230V AC and relay-output I/O modules through screw terminals that land directly on the DIN-rail base, keeping the AC side of the circuit off the plug-in module. That base-side termination means a faulty relay module can be pulled and replaced without re-landing the 230V AC field wiring. Use TU531 only with S500 modules built for 230V AC or relay outputs, since the terminal layout doesn't match the lower-voltage 24V DC analog/digital I/O bases.
