The ABB TA5146-CN (order code 1SAP187300R0005) is a serial adapter option board for AC500-eCo PLCs. It adds an electrically isolated CAN-bus port on spring terminals, letting the CPU join a CAN network for distributed control or device communication while isolating the bus from controller ground. The isolation barrier keeps the CAN bus reference separate from the CPU's own ground, useful when nodes on the network sit at different ground potentials.
