The ABB 1SAP180300R0001 (TA521) is an adapter cable with an encapsulated CR2450 lithium button cell that backs up the remanent memory and real-time clock of AC500 CPUs. It fits CPU types PM57x, PM58x, PM59x (excluding PM595) and the V3 PM56xx family, connecting the battery to the CPU without needing a bare cell soldered or clipped in place.

Selection Notes

This cable supplies backup power to the CPU's real-time clock and retentive memory while the controller is unpowered, so the clock and any retained variables survive a power loss. It is only compatible with the listed PM5xx/PM56xx CPU families, and PM595 is explicitly excluded, so confirm the exact CPU model before ordering. Replace the cell when the CPU reports a low-battery diagnostic rather than waiting for a full retentive-data loss.
