Pick this cord when one side of the run is SC duplex (older OLMs, patch panels) and the other is LC duplex, the denser connector standard on most current Industrial Ethernet switch SFP cages, avoiding a separate SC-LC coupler. Singlemode 9/125 fiber with 0.4 dB/km at 1300 nm and 0.3 dB/km at 1550 nm supports far longer unrepeated backbone spans than the multimode SC/BFOC or SC/SC cords in this series.
