The high-overload (HO) rating of 2.20 kW at up to 200% for 3 s covers punch, cutting, or press-type loads with brief torque spikes, while the low-overload (LO) 3.00 kW rating with only 150% for 3 s fits centrifugal pumps and fans with steady loading - pick the duty class that matches the load profile rather than the higher kW number by default. The integrated braking chopper drives an external braking resistor directly for fast-decelerating loads without an add-on braking module. As a Power Module rather than a Control Unit, it requires a matching CU (e.g. CU230P-2 or CU240E-2) to form a complete SINAMICS G120 drive.
