Because the RF360R integrates an OPC UA server and connects straight to PROFINET or Ethernet, it removes the separate communication module that the RS422-interface readers in the family need - useful where the PLC network already reaches the read point. Media Redundancy Protocol support lets it sit on a ring topology without a single point of failure. The -25 to +55 degC operating range is narrower than the RS422-interface readers, so cabinet cooling matters more in hot environments.
