The Siemens 6GT2801-3BA10 is a SIMATIC RF300 RF380R (GEN2) RFID reader with a dual RS422/RS232 interface (3964R protocol) and an integrated antenna. It reads ISO 15693 and MOBY E transponders at 13.56 MHz and connects to PC systems as well as communication modules. The IP67-rated 160 x 80 x 41 mm housing runs on 24 V DC from -25 to +70 degC.

The dual RS422/RS232 interface lets the RF380R connect directly to a PC for setup or diagnostics over RS232, on cable runs under 30 m, while still running production traffic to a controller over RS422 at up to 1000 m. Current consumption is 0.15 A at 24 V, roughly double the compact readers in the same protocol family, reflecting the larger 160 x 80 x 41 mm antenna housing. Four M5 screws secure it to a fixed bracket near the read point.
