The Siemens 6ES7960-1CB00-0AA5 is a synchronization module for the SIMATIC S7-1500H redundant PLC system, connecting the two H-CPUs over multimode fiber up to 200 m with an LC optical port. It plugs into each CPU's sync slot and, engineered with STEP 7 TIA Portal V15.1 or higher, draws 0.77 W typical. Cable range runs from 1 m up to 200 m at an 850 nm wavelength.

Choose this module when the two H-CPUs are within 200 m of each other; its 850 nm optics and LC port work with standard multimode patch cable, keeping the sync link inexpensive for intra-building redundancy. When the CPUs sit further apart, for example across separate site buildings, the 10 km single-mode variant at 1310 nm is the one to specify instead.
