Selection Notes
The FPGA core is field-programmable with Intel Quartus Prime, so channel behavior can be customized in hardware logic rather than fixed firmware, useful for control loops needing sub-microsecond response that a standard CPU scan cycle cannot deliver. The 4 DIQ channels switch between RS422 at up to 5 MHz, TTL 5 V at up to 1 MHz, or 24 V digital I/O per channel, so one module covers encoder-speed signals and standard discrete I/O on the same hardware. Two output current classes apply, 0.1 A on the fixed DQ channels versus 0.3 A on the DIQ channels, worth checking against actuator load before wiring a DIQ channel as a standard output.
Applications
