Because the AI 8xU/I/RTD/TC ST reads current, voltage, RTD and thermocouple signals on one module, it avoids a separate RTD/TC purchase when a station mixes standard 4-20mA transmitters with temperature channels on the same rack. The 4 dedicated RTD channels and 8 thermocouple channels cover most furnace, bearing or ambient temperature monitoring needs without a second card. CiR support for reparameterization and calibration in RUN lets a range be changed on a live line, which matters when a channel needs to switch from current to RTD input without stopping the CPU.
