- Description
The Siemens 6ES7522-5FH00-0AB0 is a SIMATIC S7-1500 digital output module, DQ 16x230VAC/1A ST, switching 16 Triac outputs rated 1 A at 120/230 V AC and wired in groups of 2 channels. Each output carries a 6.3 A slow-blow fuse and a built-in switching cycle counter, and it needs a front connector ordered separately.

Selection Notes
ST places this module in the Standard performance class with per-channel diagnostics and an integrated switching-cycle counter, ahead of a Basic-class AC output module but below an HF-class card with tighter output delay. The Triac output stage is the reason to pick this over a relay-output AC module in the same voltage range: solid-state switching gives silent, contact-less operation and a rated 10 Hz switching frequency on resistive loads, at the cost of a lower NEMA motor-starter rating (size 4) than a relay-based card can carry. Because the built-in 6.3 A slow-blow fuse protects each channel individually, a channel fault does not take the whole group down, unlike output modules relying only on group-level external fusing.
Applications
Switching 120/230 V AC loads such as solenoid valves, small motor starters, and indicator lamps directly from the PLC, where solid-state Triac switching is preferred over relay contacts for cycle life or noise reasons.
