The HF designation on the IM 154-3 PN is what unlocks IRT and PROFIsafe support, so it is the interface module to choose when the ET 200pro station sits on an isochronous PROFINET segment or needs fail-safe I/O; a non-HF module would drop both. Hot swapping means a module can be replaced without powering down the station, and the separately fused lower-part connector protects the electronics from a short on the load side.
