The Siemens 6ES7154-2AA01-0AB0 IM 154-2 DP HF is the High Feature PROFIBUS DP interface module for the SIMATIC ET 200pro distributed I/O station, adding PROFIsafe support on top of the standard 12 Mbit/s DP connection so the same station can mix fail-safe F-DI/F-DO modules with standard I/O. It addresses 244 bytes of inputs and 244 bytes of outputs and supports hot swapping of downstream modules.

PROFIsafe support is what sets the HF, High Feature, variant apart from the standard ET 200pro interface module: it lets the same station carry fail-safe F-DI, F-DI/F-DO and F-Switch modules alongside standard I/O on one PROFIBUS DP segment. Everything else, 12 Mbit/s with automatic detection, the 244/244 byte address space, hot-swap support, matches the standard module, so the choice comes down to whether the station needs a safety function at all. Like the other ET 200pro interface and power modules, it mounts on a separately ordered connection module rather than directly to the backplane.
