- Description
The Siemens 6ES7148-4FS00-0AB0 is an F-Switch electronic module for the SIMATIC ET 200pro distributed I/O system, with 3 fail-safe PP switching outputs that safely disconnect the 2L+, F0 and F1 backplane busbars plus 2 fail-safe digital inputs. Rated up to 6 A across mounting positions and PL e / SIL 3 over PROFIsafe, it isolates power to downstream I/O groups instead of switching a field load directly.

Selection Notes
Unlike the F-DI and F-DI/F-DO modules, the F-Switch does not read or drive field-level signals; its 3 PP outputs switch the 2L+, F0 and F1 backplane busbars themselves, so a single safety command removes power from every standard module downstream of it on the station. Use it as the safe power-off point for a machine zone instead of wiring individual output modules to cut power channel by channel. Its 45 mm width matches the standard, non-safety ET 200pro modules, so it does not need the extra backplane space the wider F-DI/F-DO modules require.
Applications
F-Switch modules sit at the head of a zone on the ET 200pro backplane, ahead of the standard I/O modules that need to lose power when a guard opens or an e-stop trips, giving that zone its own safety power cutoff without a separate contactor in the cabinet.
