- Description
The Siemens 6ES7148-4FC00-0AB0 is a combined fail-safe F-DI/F-DO electronic module for the SIMATIC ET 200pro distributed I/O system, with 8 safety digital inputs and 4 safety digital outputs rated 24 V DC at 2 A per channel over PROFIsafe. It is rated Performance Level e per ISO 13849-1 and SIL 3 per IEC 61508, combining input sensing and output switching for a safety loop in one module.

Selection Notes
Combining 8 F-DI and 4 F-DO channels in one 90 mm module lets a safety circuit read guard switches and drive its own output relays or contactor coils from the same PROFIsafe telegram, instead of pairing separate F-DI and F-DO modules. At 2 A per output channel it can switch small contactors or safety relay coils directly; loads above that still need an interposing relay. Like the F-DI-only sibling module in this series, it reaches PL e / SIL 3, so a mixed input/output safety function does not have to drop to a lower integrity level.
Applications
This combination fits machine zones where a guard door or light curtain both signals a stop condition and needs its own local output, such as latching a door lock or a zone contactor, without routing the output back through a separate module or the main safety PLC.
