Selection Notes
Choose this DI module over a DIN-rail ET 200SP station when the sensors sit on the machine itself: the M12-L PROFINET ports and IP65/67/69K housing let it mount in the field, including washdown areas, without a junction box. PROFINET S2 system redundancy and MRP media redundancy make it a fit for lines that cannot tolerate a single controller or cable-break failure; skip that overhead on a simple standalone cell. The module is suitable for safety-related tripping of standard modules to PL d / SIL 2 from firmware FS01, so a fail-safe CPU can switch a standard sensor channel through it without a dedicated F-DI module.
