Selection Notes
The defining feature over a standard DI/DQ module is hardware time stamping on all 10 channels plus PWM output generation - useful when event timing accuracy matters more than PLC scan-cycle resolution, for example capturing exact trigger times for external inspection systems. High Speed output mode drops the current rating to 0.1 A per channel but cuts output delay to 1 microsecond versus 5-6 microseconds in Standard mode, a trade worth making only when switching speed, not load current, is the constraint. The 3 onboard counters (200 kHz max) make it usable as an encoder input module when a full TM Count module's 800 kHz range isn't needed.
Applications
Event-time capture, PWM-driven outputs, and moderate-speed encoder counting on ET 200SP remote I/O stations - for example synchronizing external triggers or capturing part-present timestamps on a packaging line.
