Schneider Electric XPSMCMMX0802 Modicon MCM 8 Input 2 Output Pair Mixed I/O Expansion Module Safety PLC

The Schneider Electric XPSMCMMX0802 is a Modicon MCM safe mixed I/O expansion module that adds 8 digital safety inputs, 2 start/restart interlock inputs and 2 OSSD output pairs to an XPSMCM safety controller over the backplane expansion bus. It reaches category 4, PLe per ISO 13849-1 and SIL 3 per IEC 61508. The module expands an XPSMCM controller and cannot work stand-alone.

Choose the XPSMCMMX0802 when a machine zone needs both safety inputs and safety outputs from one expansion slot instead of two separate modules — its 8 inputs cover guard switches and E-stops while its 2 OSSD pairs drive contactors or drive STO circuits directly. Configurable filters and on/off delays per input let it absorb mechanical bounce from limit switches without adding an external timer relay. Like the other XPSMCM modules it only operates behind an XPSMCM base controller on the backplane bus.
