It expands an existing Modicon MCM safety controller CPU over the backplane bus and cannot run stand-alone; use it specifically where floor-mat access guarding is part of the safety concept. Independent activation and de-activation delays per output pair let each mat zone be tuned separately from the rest of the safety circuit, and the configurable diagnostic outputs report mat status back to the controller for fault tracing.
