The Schneider Electric VW3A3616 is a communication module that adds Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP connectivity to Altivar Machine ATV320 and Lexium 32 drives. It provides one RJ45 port per protocol, transmits at 10/100 Mbps in half or full duplex, and supports up to eight simultaneous Modbus TCP/EtherNet IP connections with an FDR agent for automatic device replacement.

Selection Notes

Choose the VW3A3616 when the ATV320 needs to talk both Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP over a single physical network rather than committing to one protocol - its two RJ45 ports, one per protocol, avoid the need for a separate gateway. The FDR agent also auto-restores IP configuration if the module is swapped out.
