The Schneider Electric VW3A3424 is a high-threshold logic (HTL) encoder interface module that connects a 12 V, 15 V or 24 V DC incremental encoder to Altivar Process ATV900, Altivar Process Modular and Altivar Machine ATV340 drives. Feedback wiring terminates on a removable spring connector, and the module operates up to a 300 kHz maximum frequency over cable runs of up to 500 m.

Selection Notes

Specify the VW3A3424 when the encoder outputs an HTL (high-threshold logic) signal rather than a TTL or RS422 level - HTL's higher noise margin suits longer cable runs, and this module supports up to 500 m versus the 100 m typical of TTL/RS422 interfaces. It accepts push-pull or open-collector, single-ended or differential wiring, matching whichever output stage the encoder provides.
