Schneider Electric TM3DQ16T Modicon TM3 16 Transistor Source Screw Terminal PLC I/O Module

The Schneider Electric TM3DQ16T is a Modicon TM3 discrete output module that adds 16 PNP (source) transistor outputs, rated 500 mA at 24V DC, to a Modicon M221, M241, M251 or M262 logic controller. Each channel switches in 450 µs and wires through a removable screw terminal block with 3.81 mm pitch.

Selection Notes

The TM3DQ16T sources current from each of its 16 transistor outputs (PNP), switching 500 mA per channel in 450 µs - fast enough for stepper/servo step-and-direction lines or high-cycle-rate pilot devices that a relay module's 10 ms response can't match. Its 57-year MTBF at 40 °C reflects the higher switching duty of transistor outputs versus the relay-output TM3DQ16R. For sinking (NPN) loads instead, the TM3DQ16U provides the same 16-channel count with negative logic; for an HE10 ribbon-cable connection with the same PNP logic, the TM3DQ16TK is the matching module.
