The Schneider Electric TM221CE24R is a Modicon M221 logic controller with 24 discrete I/O (14 inputs, 10 relay outputs), built-in Ethernet, USB and RS232/RS485 serial ports. It runs from a 100-240 V AC supply, switches loads up to 2 A per relay output, and provides 256 kB of application memory with an optional SD card slot.

Selection Notes

The 14 discrete inputs and 10 relay outputs give 24 total I/O without an expansion module, while the base still accepts up to 7 local expansion modules when more I/O is needed. Relay outputs switch up to 2 A at 5-250 V AC or 5-125 V DC, useful for mixed AC/DC field loads that a transistor-output controller cannot switch directly. Built-in Ethernet plus RS232/RS485 lets the controller run Modbus TCP alongside a serial link to existing equipment without an added communication module. The 2 GB SD card slot and 256 kB flash backup support local data logging or recipe storage beyond the onboard application memory.
