Selection Notes

The TM221C24R steps up from the 16 I/O C16R to 14 DI / 10 relay DO when a panel outgrows 16 points, without moving to a larger CPU family - the relay outputs (5-125 V DC or 5-250 V AC, 2 A each) still switch AC contactor coils and pilot devices directly. It also gains more expansion headroom (7 local / 14 remote modules versus 4/11 on the C16R), useful when the panel needs distributed remote I/O beyond the base unit. Where fast pulse-train outputs are needed instead of relay switching, the transistor-output C24T covers the same 24-point count.

Applications

Mid-size hardwired relay-logic panels - packaging, conveyor, and material-handling machines needing more than 16 but fewer than 40 I/O points, switching AC loads directly.
