The Schneider Electric TM221C16T is a Modicon M221 logic controller with 16 discrete I/O - 9 discrete inputs (4 fast) and 7 PNP transistor outputs (2 fast) rated 0.5 A - running from a 24 V DC supply. Fast outputs reach 100 kHz PWM/PLS for pulse-train positioning, alongside USB and RS232/RS485 serial ports.

Selection Notes

The TM221C16T's PNP transistor outputs switch 24 V DC loads at up to 100 kHz on outputs Q0-Q1 (PTO/PWM/PLS modes), which the relay-output C16R cannot do since its relays cap at 20 operations per minute - pick this variant for stepper or pulse-train positioning axes, and the C16R instead when the panel needs to switch 230 V AC loads directly without external relays. Local I/O is the same 9 DI / 7 DO as the C16R; step up to the 24 I/O C24T once the panel needs more points, or add expansion modules (4 local / 11 remote) rather than move to a larger base unit.
