With 20 inputs and 12 outputs across the wider 175 mm housing shared with the 40 I/O unit, it suits machines with more field devices than the 16 or 24 I/O variants support. Step down where fewer points suffice, up to the 40 I/O variant where more are needed, or to a 'CE' Ethernet sibling where Modbus TCP/IP connectivity is required.
