Splitting the 16 channels into 4 isolated groups of 4 on the NTSDDI1602XK keeps a field-side fault on one group from affecting the others, useful when sensor circuits originate from physically separate parts of the plant. Where group isolation is not needed, the narrower single-group NTSDDI1602K covers the same 16-channel count at a lower weight. For vibration- or condensation-prone panels, the hardened NTSDDI1602XHK shares the same group layout with conformal coating and an extended -40...70 degC range.
