Specify this Hardened variant where the installation needs conformal-coated circuit boards — the coating, together with compliance to railway (EN 50155, EN 50121-4/5) and marine (IACS E10) vibration and EMC standards, suits control cabinets exposed to contamination, moisture or mechanical shock that a standard-environment module is not rated for. The 8-channel, 1- or 2-wire current input and loop-power architecture are unchanged from the non-hardened version of this kit, so the decision comes down to the operating environment rather than signal count.

Applications

The kit mounts on the NTS bus behind Modicon M262 and M580 controllers, and behind third-party controllers that support the NTS protocol. Per-channel diagnostics flag underflow, overflow, broken-wire, hardware, calibration and loop-power-supply faults, reported through a green RUN LED, a per-channel diagnostic LED and a red ERR LED on the module face. Hot-swap fallback lets a channel be replaced without stopping the rest of the I/O island.
