The Schneider Electric METSECT5MD050 is a PowerLogic MD-type current transformer for panel metering, rated 500/5 A for busbar and cable installation. It accepts cables up to 40 mm in diameter or a 50.5 x 12.5 mm / 40.5 x 20.5 mm bus bar, delivering Class 0.5 accuracy at 4 VA burden or Class 1 at 6 VA.

The METSECT5MD050 steps up to a 40 mm cable window once a feeder's conductor outgrows the 32 mm MC family, while keeping the same 500 A primary rating as the equivalent MC050 unit. Its 30 kA thermal current and 2.5x Ith dynamic withstand match that rating, so pick it specifically when the physical cable or bar size, not the current, is what the MC body can no longer fit.
