The Schneider Electric METSECT5MB040 is a PowerLogic MB-type current transformer for panel metering, rated 400/5 A for busbar and cable installation. It accepts cables up to 26 mm in diameter or a 40.5 x 12.5 mm / 32.5 x 15.5 mm bus bar, and delivers Class 0.5 accuracy at 6 VA burden or Class 1 at 8 VA.

Selection Notes

Choose the METSECT5MB040 when the feeder carries up to 400 A and the installation needs one CT that fits either a cable up to 26 mm or a bus bar, since its dual bar openings and cable window cover both without changing hardware. The 24 kA thermal rating and 2.5x Ith dynamic withstand keep the core from saturating during a downstream fault. Against the narrower-window MC-type units in the same tropicalised range, the MB040 is the pick when the conductor diameter exceeds 32 mm.
