Schneider Electric METSECT5HM030 PowerLogic HM Type 300/5 A Class 1 42.4mm Current Transformer

The Schneider Electric METSECT5HM030 is a PowerLogic Type HM split-core current transformer for cable mounting, ratio 300/5 A, Class 1 accuracy at 2.5 VA. It clips around a cable up to 42.4 mm diameter without opening the circuit, supplying a standard 5 A secondary to a power meter or protection relay on a 300 A feeder.

Selection Notes

The METSECT5HM030 clamps onto a cable up to 42.4 mm diameter for a 300 A feeder without breaking the conductor, which is the main reason to pick a HM split-core type over a solid-core busbar transformer. Class 1 accuracy covers general-purpose metering and protection-relay current input, where billing-grade precision is not required. Choose the next current rating in the HM series if the measured feeder load exceeds 300 A, since the window size stays the same across the family.

Applications

The clip-on HM body lets a panel builder add the METSECT5HM030 to an existing 300 A cable run during a metering or protection upgrade, without disconnecting the conductor or shutting down the circuit to fit the transformer.
