Schneider Electric METSECT5HJ075 PowerLogic HJ Type 750/5 A Class 0.5 42.4mm Current Transformer

The Schneider Electric METSECT5HJ075 is a PowerLogic Type HJ split-core current transformer for cable mounting, ratio 750/5 A, Class 0.5 accuracy at 2.5 VA. It clips around a cable up to 42.4 mm diameter without opening the circuit, supplying a standard 5 A secondary to a power meter or protection relay on a 750 A feeder.

Selection Notes

The METSECT5HJ075 clamps onto a cable up to 42.4 mm diameter for a 750 A feeder without breaking the conductor, which is the main reason to pick a HJ split-core type over a solid-core busbar transformer. Class 0.5 accuracy makes it suitable for revenue-grade or sub-billing energy metering, not just coarse load indication. Choose the next current rating in the HJ series if the measured feeder load exceeds 750 A, since the window size stays the same across the family.

Applications

The clip-on HJ body lets a panel builder add the METSECT5HJ075 to an existing 750 A cable run during a metering or protection upgrade, without disconnecting the conductor or shutting down the circuit to fit the transformer.
