Schneider Electric METSECT5HD025 PowerLogic HD Type 250/5 A Class 1 27.9mm Current Transformer

The Schneider Electric METSECT5HD025 is a PowerLogic Type HD split-core current transformer for cable mounting, ratio 250/5 A, Class 1 accuracy at 1 VA. It clips around a cable up to 27.9 mm diameter without opening the circuit, supplying a standard 5 A secondary to a power meter or protection relay on a 250 A feeder.

Selection Notes

The METSECT5HD025 clamps onto a cable up to 27.9 mm diameter for a 250 A feeder without breaking the conductor, which is the main reason to pick a HD split-core type over a solid-core busbar transformer. Class 1 accuracy covers general-purpose metering and protection-relay current input, where billing-grade precision is not required. Choose the next current rating in the HD series if the measured feeder load exceeds 250 A, since the window size stays the same across the family.

Applications

The clip-on HD body lets a panel builder add the METSECT5HD025 to an existing 250 A cable run during a metering or protection upgrade, without disconnecting the conductor or shutting down the circuit to fit the transformer.
