Its MicroLogic 1.3 M trip unit gives fixed instantaneous and adjustable short-time protection only, for pairing with a separate overload relay.

The MicroLogic 1.3 M trip unit provides only short-time (S) and fixed instantaneous (I) protection — it has no adjustable long-time stage, so C63H31M500 is meant to pair with a separate motor overload relay or thermal-magnetic starter rather than protect the motor on its own. Use a 2.3 M variant of the same frame instead when a single device needs to combine adjustable overload protection with the motor-circuit breaker function. At 70 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC, the frame covers starter coordination up to that fault level.
