The Schneider Electric C40H32M320 is a 3-pole ComPacT NSX400H moulded case circuit breaker for motor protection, rated 320 A on a MicroLogic 2.3 M electronic trip unit with long-time (L), short-time (So) and instantaneous (I) electronic protection plus a selectable motor trip class. Breaking capacity (Icu) is 70 kA at 380/415 V AC, with a 690 V AC rated operational voltage.

The MicroLogic 2.3 M trip unit gives this NSX400H It includes its own long-time thermal protection plus a selectable motor trip class (5/10/20), so it can protect the motor without a separate overload relay; set the trip class to match the motor's starting duty. At 70 kA Icu, the H-frame breaking capacity sets how close to the transformer the breaker can sit; choose the 1.3 M sibling in the same frame when the opposite combination of built-in overload and trip-class control is needed.
