Schneider Electric's C100L450FM is a 4-pole, 1000 A ComPacT NS1000L moulded case circuit breaker with a 150 kA Icu rating at 380/415 V AC and a 690 V AC operational voltage. The fixed, front-connected breaker uses the MicroLogic 5.0 trip unit for overload (L), short-time delayed short-circuit (S) and instantaneous (I) protection.

Selection Notes

The MicroLogic 5.0 trip unit on the C100L450FM is configured for overload (L), short-time delayed short-circuit (S) and instantaneous (I) protection. Adding the S (short-time delay) stage to L-I lets this trip unit hold off tripping briefly on a downstream fault, so an upstream breaker can coordinate selectively with devices further down the circuit. In the NS1000 case size, this L-frame breaker is the very high breaking capacity option (150 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC); the H-frame (70 kA Icu) and the N-frame (50 kA Icu) versions share the same case and accessories but trade breaking capacity for cost or vice versa. The A- and E-suffix trip units in the same frame add an ammeter or energy meter respectively, for installations that want local metering without extra hardware. As a 4-pole unit it supports neutral protection options (no protection, half-rated N/2, or full-rated 4D) rather than the fixed 3-pole configuration.
